Is It The Rumored X7? A New Mavic? Or Something Out Of The partnership With Hasselblad?
For the past couple of days, the world’s leader in civilian drones and aerial imaging technology, DJI, has hinted that something new is coming on October 11th. We shouldn’t be surprised, it’s typically around this time of year that they blow all of our minds with their groundbreaking product releases. Remember when GoPro FINALLY released their highly anticipated Karma Drone, only to have DJI launch the Mavic Pro a week later? So it’s not unusual that we should expect something new from DJI (see the X7) during this time of year.
Some have been saying the Phantom line is expected to be replaced with a new and bigger Mavic aircraft, while others are talking about a Phantom 5 with retracts or even a Mavic with a 1-inch image chip. Others speculate a new smaller zoom camera. While DJI has the Z30 for their industrial market, it carries a hefty price and has a relatively small image chip.
In true DJI fashion, the company released this trailer “DJI — Reflections — Oct 11, 2017“, which did, in fact, confirm the event, but once again left it wide open for speculation, however after watching the clip over and over it does put a lot of emphasis on the lens on the camera.
The event is scheduled for this upcoming Wednesday, October 11th, 2017 at 5pm PST. Check out the DJI YouTube channel for more info.
Any thoughts on what it could be? Could it be the Inspire 3? Mavic Pro 2? S-2000?
This morning we were sent what looks like a screen capture of a video clip of an Inspire 2 and a new camera. We were also sent a link to a video on Vimeo but has since been removed since last we checked. The image looks like the Inspire 2 (or possibly a new Inspire) with the rumored X7 zoom camera.
